We first heard this song while it was still hot off the press.  The electrons were still stirring in the randaom-access memory, thrilled to be assembled in such a way.  The result on-screen was magnificent, so much so that we had to bring it back in episode 1027 as a sort of theme to Holly J and Declan.

We always dug this song and had it in our pool since Season 9.  It fit quite nicely into Eli’s word – rocky and he just doesn’t care.  It’s a nice foreshadowing of his ensuing struggle with Fitz.

A few people to note on this notable placement (and incidentally, it’s placement in 1012).  Jason Irvine, picture editor for Degrassi, gave us a “hoot” the second he heard it and found it a nice home in Little Miss Steaks’. We were all very excited about the whole country thing.  Thanks to Sean Russell who pitched us the song with ferocity and accuracy – quick on the draw.

This is a beautiful song.  The first five words are captivating, an entire love story described in a sentence.  An inside story: one of the first cuts of this episode had the lyrics “there’s so much a man can do, there’s so much a man can say” over a shot of a pensive Holly J.  We switched over to a different verse!

Carleigh Aikins has an amazing voice! Go see this band live, if you haven’t already.  The song was nicely tucked into The Dot – that new Dot needed to be dirtied up some with a solid rock band.

We’ve all been following the HJ/Declan story, all that New York stuff, it’s been a long road.  We really felt that this time, it was done for good.  This song was born out of necessity for Emma-Lee, and was placed with the same for Holly J.  Hearts were breaking everywhere.  This was a huge moment.
